Prune, Parsnip, and Ground Beef Puree

MAKES 4 (2-OUNCE) SERVINGS

Prunes add sweetness, while parsnips bring a mild earthy flavor. The finely ground beef gives your baby something to chew on and adds plenty of protein to support her growing body.

2 (1-ounce) freezer tray cubes prune puree (here), thawed

4 (1-ounce) freezer tray cubes parsnip puree (here), thawed

2 ounces ground beef

1. Combine the thawed purees in a small bowl. Mix well with a spoon.

2. In a small sauté pan, cook the beef over medium-high heat, crumbling it with a spoon, until brown, about 6 minutes.

3. Add the beef to the purees and mix well with a spoon. Store any unoffered puree in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not refreeze.

TIP: Garlic and thyme will add more flavor to this dish. As the beef cooks, stir in ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder and ¼ teaspoon dried thyme.
